The ability to use generative AI in medical education is becoming increasingly easier and more utilized. This session will address both the ethical concerns and potential opportunities to use generative AI in medical education research. Some key ethical concerns include transparency of use, algorithm bias, and privacy/confidentiality/security. Additionally, users need to understand potential concerns in regards to accuracy and sources of content generated, as well as biases that can arise from the algorithms used in generative AI programs. We will then review guidelines of generative AI use from major medical journals and the NIH. This session will also address how to create effective prompts when using generative AI and examples of generative AI programs that may help with research
