Away rotations are pivotal experiences that can significantly influence a student’s specialty choice, residency match prospects, and exposure to diverse clinical environments. However, issues such as financial constraints, limited availability, and systemic biases often limit the access of marginalized students to these rotations. Some programs and scholarships aimed at helping students fund these electives have been significantly altered following the SCOTUS decision, further exacerbating these barriers.
