Leadership opportunities in medical school have been cited for their potential to enhance the experiences of medical students during training as well as the competencies of medical practice (Annan, Do and MacLeod, 2023). Leadership opportunities that intentionally connect students across medical schools may contribute to systems of support that help students navigate the many junctures of medical education (AAMC, 2023) and potentially address issues of medical student burnout (Dyrbye, Thomas and Shanafelt, 2006). Focusing leadership on a flourishing approach may go even further in producing future physicians ready to take on the complexities of the contemporary healthcare system both for themselves and their patients (Boudreau, Cruess and Cruess, 2011; VanderWeele, McNeely and Koh 2019; Kay, Pavlic and Ruffalo, 2023).
