LCME element 2.4 notes that a medical school must have a sufficient number of associate or assistant deans in place to accomplish the missions of the medical school. UNC SOM expanded the structure of the Offices of Medical Student Education (OMSE) Dean-level positions. In 2022-2023, the faculty leaders in the Curricular Affairs and Student Affairs branches of the OMSE increased from 2 Associate Deans to 2 Associate Deans and 4 Assistant Deans under the direction of a Senior Associate Dean. In this session, we will share the UNC SOM approach to teaming, discussing the shared framework for engagement.
