MD-granting medical schools based in the United States must adhere to the accreditation standards set forth by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). A well-organized and longitudinal Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) process is a critical component of maintaining accreditation and driving improvements to strengthen medical education programs. This same CQI process can be smoothly leveraged into preparation for the institutional self-study process and a successful LCME accreditation site visit.
